About Yuki

Toyama Yukinojo, more often known as Yuki is one of the main characters of Hayakawa Tomoko's Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge (Perfect Girl Evolution/The Wallflower). Yuki is known as the happy-go-lucky character of the series, often exuding a bubbly personality and an attraction to cute things. He is a beautiful young man who is friendly to all and extremely loyal to his friends. He is not easily angered (unless a friend is insulted or hurt), but he does resent being thought of only as cute or pretty, and hates when he must dress as a woman, whether to help his friends or to model.

About Marionnette

Marionnette opened on December 28, 2007, after I, Hieica, was approved only the day before. For the layout I wanted something colorful and cute, since it would fit Yuki's personality. It was a little bit difficult since I specialize in either dark, grungy, or high contrast layouts, and I'm not used to so... much... color. It isn't obnoxiously happy, and not the brightest of colors (pastels worked really nicely :D), but it is still colorful and cute, so I think I did well.

As for the name Marionnette, at one point in the series, someone said that Yuki had the face of a French doll, so I went to FreeDict.com and searched for the French word for doll. I never knew that's what marionnette meant *dumb* :D;;;

Why Yuki?

I found that strangely, Yuki stuck out to me the most in the series. Usually a character such as Kyouhei or Ranmaru would attract my attention first, which they did at first, but I found their personalities to be... a bit cliché. Take out the "hei" and give him cat ears, and Kyouhei is suddenly Kyou from Fruits Basket. Ranmaru is your typical playboy secretly searching for "the one". And Yuki, if we made him a bit shorter, could be Momiji from Furuba. However, Yuki is a bit more unique than that. Most "cute" characters would cry when offended or hurt, but Yuki gets angry and can yell and punch. Also, most "cute" characters are cute because they like to be - Yuki simply can not help being adorable and he sometimes comes to resent it. Yuki is quite different than most typical "cute" characters, and this is why he caught my eye moreso than the other characters.
